The Nano Jury brings together twenty randomly-chosen people from different backgrounds who will hear evidence about a wide range of possible futures, and the role that nanotechnologies might play in them. Over five weeks, the jurors will hear from a variety of witnesses with widely varying perspectives, which they will draw on in coming up with a set of recommendations. These will inform how debates as to how this emerging and potentially revolutionary technology should develop. It is sponsored by the IRC in Nanotechnology at the University of Cambridge, Greenpeace UK, the Guardian and the Policy, Ethics and Life Sciences Research Centre at the University of Newcastle.
