Objectives

The overall aim of this Co-ordination Action is both, firstly, to anticipate the societal and ethical issues likely to arise as nanobiotechnologies develop and, secondly, to use the lessons from the European GM debate to respond pro-actively and responsibly to the probable public, media and political concerns.

Partners

The Nanobio-RAISE Consortium consists of the project partners, Steering Group and Forum. The project partners are listed below; these organisations are responsible for the various work packages in the project. Delft University of Technology acts as the overall project coordinator. Steering Group
-
The Nanobio-RAISE Steering Group is composed of leading individuals experienced in and committed to nanobiotechnology ethics and societal issues. It will oversee and monitor the project on a practical basis for the duration of the project. Further roles of the Steering Group are to maximise the synergies between the components of the project, to represent the project and establish contacts with other related bodies and projects, to review project evaluations and advise on any necessary modifications of the project as it progresses.

Forum

The Nanobio-RAISE Forum is open to all those with an interest in the project or in nanobiotechnology ethics and societal issues in general. Forum members have agreed to contribute to the project and wish to play an active role. The role of the Forum is to provide expertise, experience and advice in all phases of the project including its work programme, activities and publications. We invite further scientists, industrialists, ethicists and other relevant experts to join our Forum. If you wish to join, please contact us: join@nanobio-raise.org
